it is classified into. In this article, we will discuss about, one specific
type of symptom which is “objective symptom”.
And this term “objective symptom” is very commonly used in Homoeopathy? What does this term “objective symptom” mean?
Objective
symptoms are one of the types of “symptom” through which disease express itself.
Objective symptom means those symptoms which are discoverable, can be recognized;
can be seen, can be noticed by patient himself, doctor, attendants of patients
and also discoverable by laboratory tests.
Objective
symptoms are
like signs which can be recognized by patient, his or her attendants,
his or her doctor. They can also be measured with the help of laboratory tests,
if they are even on minute scale and not discoverable otherwise. But
discoverable on examining with help of various tests like microscopical
examination, X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound, MRI and can be measured with various
laboratory biochemical tests.
Objective
symptoms are those symptoms which reflect
changes in normal condition of human body from healthy state to diseased state.
They are language of disease through which disease express itself. They are a
sign of changes in state of body from its healthy state to diseased state and
can be easily recognized by anyone just like signs which are easily
recognizable. They can be easily recognized by anybody for example,
- by patient himself,
- by attendants of suffering patient,
- doctor who examines the patient and prescribes him or her treatment and
- can also be measured with help of various laboratory tests like MRI, ultrasound, X-rays, biochemistry tests.
Examples of objective symptoms-
What are examples of objective symptoms?- One example of objective symptom is any wound on any part of body, which can be seen with eyes, felt with hands and can be measured with various laboratory instruments. If it is not possible to see it with eyes of doctor, patient, their attendants; then it can be measured and recognized with various invasive and non-invasive laboratory tests.
- Another example is any cough or discharge from any part of body which can be recognized with eyes like phlegm, coryza exiting through nose, all are examples of objective symptoms which can be seen with eyes and can be heard and noticed by attendants of patients and can be noticed by doctor who examines the patient.
