What is Law of Minimum Dose and its importance in Homoeopathy?




Law of minimum dose not used in allopathy. It is used in Homoeopathy. Why it is used in Homeopathy? This is because it is one of the main, important and cardinal principle of Homoeopathy. But, what this law called "Law of minimum dose" states?

It states one of the important fundamental fact related to field of medicine. According to this Law, Homoeopathic medicines should be prescribed. This law states

that very little quantity of medicine should be used when employing it for treatment of human aliments. This is, what half statement of Law states and second half of statement states that this little quantity should be that much quantity, which is able to affect vital force dynamically a little but effectively.

That means only little, that is, minimum quantity of medicine should be used for treatment purposes of human disease and not excess. How to measure minimum dose?

What is called minimum dose? Minimum dose is that dose, which is that much quantity of medicine which is much smaller than crude dose; but able to affect vital force on minimum scale, but effectively on dynamic plane. If you want to cure human aliment with medicinal aid, then it need to affect vital force a little bit; but in effective way, that is, little bit dynamically.


So, that was what law of minimum dose means. But, why Homoeopathic doctor needs to follow it? Why can't Homeopathic doctor avoid it?
