Today's topic secondary action of drug, as I said above is not action produced at first place. It is the action which drug produce after 1st action, that is primary action. So, the primary action precedes secondary action and secondary action follows primary action. As I discussed in article, on primary action of drug, drug produce certain effect on human body. What is so different about secondary action of drug, which differentiates it from primary?

  • It is the effect which human body produce, that is reaction which human body gives to these effects changes produced by primary action of drug. So, that means, secondary action of drug is that reaction which human body produce to guard it against the effects produced by primary action of drug.
  • So, that means, conclusively, that in primary action of drug human body do not do guarding work, in that it just receives effects of drugs; but in secondary action of drug it do the just opposite it produce guarding action as a reaction to effects of primary action of drug.
  • So, is that all about secondary action of drug? No, that’s not all it’s just its definition; its types yet to be discussed which we have already discussed in  article- 2 Types of Secondary Action of Drug.
