9 Differences between Homoeopathic Classification of Diseases and Allopathic Classification



What differences does Homoeopathic system of medicine have from allopathic system of medicine in terms of classification of diseases? Both of them have 9 differences from each other. For example, Homoeopathic treats on basis of individualization, whereas allopathy does not follow such criteria. That was just one difference. Lets discuss each of these 9 differences in detail.

Here, it goes, how Homoeopathic system of classification of diseases differs from allopathic system of classification of diseases-


1.      Homoeopathic system of classification of diseases is uses concept of individualization of diseases. According to Homoeopathy, a disease is alternation in state of health from normal to abnormal manifested outwardly in form of various sign and symptoms. Totality of symptoms of a case constitutes disease. Every type of symptoms and signs are considered in totality of case of disease. Whereas allopathic system of medicine uses nosological criteria for classification of diseases. It only considers common symptoms of a case of disease during classification process.

2.      Homoeopathicsystem uses both common as well as uncommon symptoms while classifying diseases. Therefore, two persons said to suffering from same disease in allopathy using criteria of inclusion of common symptoms; are actually suffering from different individual diseases in Homoeopathy using individual uncommon symptoms inclusion criteria.

3.      Diseases classified in Homoeopathy using criteria number second "cause of disease." Whereas allopathic system of medicine does not consider cause of disease in their disease classification criteria.

4.      In Homoeopathy, diseases are clinically classified into surgical diseases and dynamic diseases, which are further, classified into two main subtypes acute and chronic diseases, whereas in allopathy, diseases are classified into three types and that are acute, sub-acute and chronic diseases.

5.      In Homoeopathy, acute and chronic diseases are considered under category dynamic diseases, which are those diseases which are caused by dynamic morbific inimical causes which derange vital force. Whereas in allopathy, there is no category named dynamic diseases exists.

6.      According to Homoeopathic disease classification process, acute diseases are those diseases which are caused by some dynamic exciting cause morbifically inimical to vital force of human body whereas according to allopathy, acute diseases are those diseases which are of less than six weeks duration and no cause is considered during classification process.

7.      According to disease classification process used in Homoeopathy, chronic diseases are those diseases, which are caused by one chronic miasm or combinations of different chronic miasms number one psora, number two sycosis and number three syphilis. Whereas allopathy says, chronic diseases are those diseases, which run for indefinite period of time, that is, more than one year.

8.      In allopathic disease classification process, a category named sub-acute diseases is there under which those diseases come which are of more than six weeks duration whereas in Homoeopathic system of medicine, no such category exists.

9.      According to allopathic disease classification system, disease is a fixed process having fixed duration of illness and fixed common symptoms whereas according to Homoeopathy, disease is an continuously changing dynamic process.
